But it’s not enough. Our planet is suffering, so our mission is simple: Design all products to reach 100% biodegradability by 2025, while keeping their gorgeous silky softness and performance at a premium.
Through a lack of sustainable alternatives, disposable nappies have been piling up in landfills since 1965. Today landfills are bursting at the seams with an estimated 400 billion traditional plastic nappies - each taking up to 500 years to decompose.
The first ever disposable nappy may remain completely intact until the year 2465. And with each child needing on average 8 nappies a day… the severity of the nappy crisis becomes clear.
Known as Circular Economy, the Ecoriginals difference is based on the principles of designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use and regenerating natural systems. Put simply, we specialize in creating baby products from natural resources, and ensure they can go back to the ground with little or no impact.
So, when we say nothing, we mean nothing. Compared to up to 200g* of plastic discarded each day from standard or eco blended disposable nappies, we’re proud of our eco difference
*assumes average nappy weight of 50g and 8 nappies used a day
